Tap Songs for a solo?

I am trying out for a tap solo for next year and I don't know what song to use. I was thinking maybe It's Tricky by: Run DMC or Don't stop the Music by: Rihanna, or maybe Potential Breakup Song by: Aly %26amp; AJ or Fuego by: The Cheetah Girls but I don't know if that is too slow


Does anyone have anyother ideas for songs??


I am an intermediate/advanced dancer and I am in Competition. I don't want anything that is too old or too slow, or I don't want anything that is like a broodway song. I want something that is newer and upbeat or maybe like a rock song from the 80's with a good beat.


Any ideas???? Please help=)

"Dance" by Paul Jabara has a reallyyy cool beat. It's from like, 1978 though.





"Thriller" by Michael Jackson is another good tap choice.


"Freeze Frame" by Jump 5


"Footloose" by Kenny Loggins


"La Grange" by ZZ Top





However I donttttttt think Potentional Breakup Song will be good for tap. Just sayin'.

Reply:I think all those songs would work also if you have a few songs that are kind of similar try making a mix it always works. It also gives you variety.
Reply:Any type of swing dance is good - Zoot Suit Riot by Cherry Poppin' Daddies; Putting on the Ritz; Devil with a Blue Dress on. Billy Joel has some good songs to dance to from his "Glass Houses" album.
